The Rotary Club of Havant hosted a wine and canapés event to try and attract new members on October 10th 2016. Some 17 guests responded to our invitation and came along to meet some Rotarians, find out what we do, watch a video of our activities and hear a short presentation.
Membership Chairman Trevor Nightingale, President Jackie Branson, and three current members spoke briefly about Rotary and in the case of the two more recent members, why they joined and what they enjoy about belonging to our thriving group. Our primary aim is to observe the Rotary motto ‘Service above Self’ by helping both locally and internationally in whatever way we can, while enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded individuals from all walks of life who are prepared to offer their skill set to ‘put something back’.
Several of our guests joined us for our normal Monday evening supper and meeting and were able to enjoy a great presentation by Sue Tinney of World Vision International.
We are hoping to make this an annual event, so if you missed this one and think you might be ready to come along to our next on November 10th 2017 in Emsworth, why not fill in your details in our contact form and we will get in touch when details are finalised? Or if you can’t wait that long, contact us anyway for an invitation to one of our regular meetings, where you will be made most welcome.
There will be no pressure to join – we just want you to enjoy the experience and get to know us as we get to know you.
If this has piqued your interest, do fill in the contact form and ask for an invitation, or contact our membership chairman Stuart Moore directly on 02392 348 681, or email him via firstname.lastname@example.org with your details.
We are a very active Club, as you will see if you check out our Facebook page – just click the Facebook icon.
We look forward to meeting you next time!
